County and Private Trash/Recycling Updates

 Update#3

Republic Services will be operating RESIDENTIAL routes tomorrow, January 28th. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to access all streets due to narrow or icy conditions. Also, please have residents place containers on a cleared surface accessible by our crews.

-Trash missed last Friday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday will be serviced on your next scheduled trash service day.

-Recycling missed on Friday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday will be serviced the next scheduled recycling service day.

**Please note that all routes will be delayed in the coming days due to street conditions and large amounts of materials.**

Thank you and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Update#2:

Republic Services will NOT SERVICE RESIDENTIAL OR COMMERCIAL customers, January 26th, 2016 due to secondary road conditions.  As an organization, safety is our top priority, and we do not want to put the public or our employees at risk.

Provided your community’s secondary and neighborhood roads are cleared of snow and ice, residential and commercial trash and recycling service will resume on YOUR NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED PICK-UP DAY.  ** Please note that typical service times will be delayed. **

Thank you and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

To ensure the safety of trash truck drivers, Fairfax County has suspended the requirement for trash and recycling collection for the week of Jan. 25-30 for all collection companies operating in the county. This will provide the opportunity for workers to clear streets to allow travel to resume safely. Snow-covered roads make trash and recycling collection very difficult.
However, collection may resume before Jan. 30; it will depend on road conditions and your provider’s decision.
Residents should pull their containers away from the curb to allow snowplows to clean streets.
